Pond is a vaguely psychedelic australian band from perth, which i happen to be quite a fan of.

over the following [SOME PERIOD OF TIME] i will be writing reviews for what i consider to be their early era, i.e. their first four albums, released from 2009 to 2012.

i do this because their work pre-Hobo Rocket is a lot more obscure than everything after it.

there's a few reasons for this, for one, the first three albums aren't officially available anywhere (aside from Psychedelic Mango being present on apple music). and two, even though their sound HAS grown since releasing Hobo Rocket, i feel there's a distinct sonic boundary between Beard, Wives, Denim and Hobo Rocket specifically; explained by the fact that despite BWD releasing in 2012 and Hobo Rocket a year later in 2013, most of BWD was recorded as far back as early-mid 2010.

i MAY also provide downloads for those first three albums; depends on how much i want to prod neocities TOS, cuz it's still technically piracy even if you can't officially get these anywhere anymore.

let me make something clear from the start, music reviews suck. they're so heavily based in comparing music to other more popular music and if they aren't, then they're based around using nonsensical buzzwords that mean nothing... and i don't like that. so, i'd like you to consider these "reviews" as more of an excuse to gush about a band i like than some bespoke critique, in vain with most things that come out of my mouth.
