this game is some of the most fun i've had with my friends in a video game.
the simple gameplay loop of "get in and get stuff" combined with some very smart design choices when it comes to how powerful you are makes this game insanely replayable, i have 83 hours in it as of writing this and despite that playtime, lethal company has never lost its sense of threat to me.
sure, i can take some educated precautions before diving in, but the moment a bracken is confirmed present
i am also confirmed shaking in my boots.
i've never felt like i've "figured out" anything to the point of it being trivial. whenever i fight something as simple as a SINGLE hoarding bug, i still can't say it's guaranteed that i'll win.
and it makes those rare moments where you actually take down a big baddy so much more rewarding. i remember the first time i killed a nutcracker and took its shotgun; my heart was RACING!
none of this is to mention the proximity voice chat, accidentally running straight into a bracken while fleeing from a maneater to then instantly hear all of your dead friends laugh at your misfortune has never felt more pleasant.
lethal company is THRILLING, it's FUNNY, it's TENSE, and it has earned its place as a game i highly, highly regard.
